Det er ikke ofte man befinner seg rett under en flyvende dagmamma med en fugle-paraply. Men "Anything Can Happen if You Let it" synger Mary Poppins. Og det var akkurat det som skjedde meg. Jeg endte opp paa syvende rad midt foran Broadway scenen paa Amsterdam Theater etter en kjapp tur innom den offisielle teater-boden Tkts paa Times Square tidligere paa dagen. Tkts selger "billig" billetter til dagens forestillinger - akkurat som Tkts boden midt paa Leicester Square i London.
Den eneste forskjellen er at 50% rabatt i New York er noe annet enn 50% rabatt i London. Det vil si at New Yorks Broadway priser er hakket stivere enn Londons West End priser. I New York ligger billettene i Tkts boden paa rundt $42-90 for musikaler.
Hvis det er lang koe og man er aapen for noe med litt mindre sang, kan det loenne seg aa sjekke ut "Play Only" koen paa Broadway siden av Tkts. Teater-prisene ligger cirka $5 under musikal-prisene. Men det er ikke til aa komme borti fra at en Broadway musikal som Mary Poppins er bare "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" - ubeskrivelig.
